In Olivia’s dream sequence, when the kayak floats across the screen, you can see a symbol at the tip.
Alpha
Alpha: (uppercase A) The first letter in the Greek alphabet. Although this is not technically the symbol for ‘Alpha’, it is derived from the Phoenician letter ‘Aleph’. This is actually the symbol for Aleph. Alpha is used to refer to ‘the beginning and the end‘ or ‘the most significant occurrence‘.
So
So my question is…are they referring to the beginning of a new series…the pilot episode? Or are they hinting towards a particular ‘Happening’ (perhaps involving the kayak) to being the most significant or the beginning of the ‘Happenings’? Does it have something to do with Olivia’s uncle?
This one is a long shot, but, in the opening credits, it sure looks like the ‘Aleph’ symbol again.
Remember the access panel at the end of the episode? Well, after the code disappears, this leaf spins around on the panel. In the center of the leaf is the symbol for the Greek letter ‘Delta’.
Delta
Delta: (uppercase ?) is the fourth letter of the Greek alphabet. Generally used to denote ‘change‘ and ‘uncertainty‘. ‘Delta’ is derived form the Phoenician letter ‘Daleth‘ which translates in English to ‘door‘.
Gene
At the end of the episode, you see John Scott being wheeled into a lab of some sort. When the orderly placed his hand on the panel you can see an access code appear…the number is 112400.

O.K., so the last one is obvious…but what the fringe do the rest of them mean?
At first, I thought it was places to look for the Massive Dynamic logo throughout the episode…plane and satellites covered…but what about the other three?
The Massive Dynamic logo appears at least three times in the ‘Pilot’. The first time is approximately 8 minutes into the episode, you will see the logo on the plane.
When Olivia is looking through the images of the victims aboard the plane(pilot episode)…you can clearly see the seatbelt. This might me a stretch, but it looks like a symbol to me.
Theta
Theta: The eighth letter of the Greek alphabet. ‘Theta’ is derived from the Phoenician letter ‘Teth’, meaning ‘wheel‘. The symbol is actually ‘Teth’. In classical Athens this symbol was used to signify death or a warning of death, much like we use the skull and bones today.
When John is searching the warehouses he stumbles across this car. Upon closer inspection of the emblem on the car you will notice the striking resemblance to the MG Car logo. I think the car is a late 70’s ‘Vermillion’…can anybody confirm that?
