Synopsis: A deadly explosion at a construction site in New York City reveals a strange bullet shaped…object, that was unharmed by the blast. A strange bald man (’The Observer’) who is witnessing the event, makes a phone call and announces “It has arrived.”.

Tidbits: In the FOX press release for the episode the Observer is named September.

Fringe Fumbles: To explode or not to explode

Character of the Week: The Observer- played by Michael Cerveris

Peter: “What formula are you rattling off at 3 o’clock in the morning?

Walter: “”The formula for root beer. I thought I might make some in the lab tomorrow.”

My Thoughts:

My Thoughts: This was the episode that got me hooked and inspired me to start this blog.

This weird cylinder came up from the ground in an explosion, and then went back down into the ground. What the fringe is this thing? Is it a probe, collecting and carrying information to somebody or something? Is it a container for some biological or mechanical agent? The Observer called it a ‘beacon’, and apparenty it’s transmitting a signal, so maybe it’s some kind of homing device, but for whom or what?. I’m looking forward to learning more.

the observer

‘The Observer’ makes his first spotlight appearance, and I was not disappointed with the way his character played out. Is he some sort of alien, studying the human race? Is he a time traveler? Has he come back in time to witness certain events, or perhaps just to prevent a certain catastrophic event. Either of these would explain why he doesn’t age, and why he seems to have super powers…like reading peoples minds.

If you watch closely, you will see the observer lurking around in the background of the other episodes…

'The Observer' is everywhere.
